AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Kremlin has strongly criticized the decision announced by Donald Trump to impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz and has warned that such an action could have negative consequences for global markets.
The U.S. military has claimed that it will block the passage of ships to Iranian ports starting at 10:00 AM Washington time.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, reacting to this decision, stated, "Such actions will, with a high degree of certainty, have negative effects on international markets." At the same time, he declined to provide further details, saying that many aspects of this plan are still unclear.
Energy market analysts warn that any disruption to oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz could lead to a rise in oil prices and increased volatility in financial markets—an issue that, especially given the fragile state of the global economy, would have far-reaching consequences.
